Missouri officials say schools are prepared for swine flu

As of now, there are two confirmed swine flu cases in Missouri, but officials say that both schools and day care centers have increased preparations to prevent the virus from spreading.

Schools are trying to inform students about the virus and the best ways to protect themselves from it. According to an article published in the Fort Mill Times, school nurses in Springfield have been going to classrooms and teaching students the proper way to sneeze and cough and how to wash their hands properly.

Missouri schools are also trying to keep parents informed with the latest news about the swine flu. In St. Louis, health officials are sending parents automated phone messages to keep them in-the-know.
